Little boy nightmares...

My two and a half year old had his first nightmare last night, at least the first one that he was able to dictate to us.  He woke us up shortly before 6:00 AM crying.  Apparently there was a "red fire" and a "blue fire" in his room that was "eating his baby Simba bed" and "getting him".

Maybe we should put the Living Scriptures version of Abinidi away for a little while......

I was hesitant to move over to Tooele county because for some reason or another I thought of Tooele as trashy, dirty, and desert.

I don't know what I was thinking.  I don't feel that way at all anymore.  This is the beautiful view we see everytime we drive to Stansbury from Tooele in the evening, and we get a similar view driving from the city to Stansbury in the evening.

It really is beautiful out here in Tooele.

5 years later......

Now you're my whole life now you're my whole world
I just can't believe the way I feel about you
Well look back some day at this moment that we're in
And I'll look at you and say and I thought I loved you then
And I thought I loved you then...

Did you know that some of Tooele looks like this?!?!  I didn't.  This little gem is about 15 minutes from our house, so we took advantage and went for a cookout.

Look mom!  A fire!

Brody handled the slightly chilly weather like a champ and was just as content as could be.
Hanging out, waiting for our Hobo dinners to cook.

Brody even seemed to quite enjoy himself a little.

This is the look I got when Daniel pulled our dinners out of the fire and they were suddenly 2 pounds lighter.  Ash= nearly weightless :)

This was supposed to be Chase's dinner....

We were able to salvage a couple bites out of the bigger dinners, but apparently we are going to need to watch them closer next time.

And you know me, we couldn't leave without forcing my boys into a family snapshot.

See that little bandage on my baby's arm.  Watching your little baby getting shots is hard, but so much harder is watching them draw blood from a little needle stuck into the little tiny vein in his little tiny arm.  And watching a really large catheter being shoved into his little tiny boy parts, and then after all that, getting a shot.

I realize that there are babies who go through much more, and I'm grateful that it wasn't too serious and hat Brody is back to his old self.

(At least I don't think it's too serious, one can never know when you can't get the test results back....)

Memorial day weekend.

We got tired of waiting for summer to come to us, so we went to find it ourselves...... in Moab!

And ventured out on a little hike up Hunter Canyon.  We stopped for my mom to scale the mountain and Brody needed a quick little snack.

And a bum changin'.

Brody's first smiles caught on film.  I know it looks like a gassy smile, but he was really laughing at us :)

Brennan was showing Chase a lizard and Chase wanted to tickle it.  Right when Chase went to tickle it, it made it's escape.
