Discovery Gateway.

If this place wasn't so expensive we would go everyday.  This was Chase's second time going and he had a blast.  His favorite part?  Putting balls in the hoses of course, because if you didn't know hoses top the list of neat things in little Chaser's world.  He would spend all day everyday doing that if he could.

Somedays things go well.  We have fun, learn and get a long.

Somedays...... not!

While painting the walls brown Chase says excitedly, "Hey look, we're puttin' mud on the walls."

I wonder if that means he likes the color..... or not :)

Time for an adventure....

We have to keep things moving around here.  That's what happens when you marry a man with a mild case of ADD and reproduce a child with a severe case of it.  If we don't keep things moving and interesting everyone gets a little ornery around this place.

We were long over due for an "adventure" so we drove and drove...... for 40 miles of paved road.... and then on a dirt road...... for 50 miles.

... and wound up here :

the huge hole in the ground we search hours for.....

....so we could dig for some of these:

Geodes!

An adventure it was.
And it isn't a good one unless you get good and dirty!

Momma included.

Brody enjoyed himself while we were out digging and walking around, but screamed the 1.5 hour ride of bumpy dirt road back home.  He has discovered that he can blow bubbles with his lips.

And dad couldn't be outdone.

Geodes weren't the only treasure we found out there either.  The scenery was beautiful.  I had a friend once tell me that Utah never had pretty sunsets like his beloved Arizona's.  I am stockpiling pictures to prove my case against him :)

This is the first  watermelon we have been able to grow.  Every spring that we have been married we have planted a garden for the garden fresh tomatoes, and each year we have thrown a watermelon plant in just in case.

Well this is the first year that we actually got watermelons to grow!  I thought I was the most excited about it, it turns out Chase was so excited he couldn't help but pick it......even though it was still a little small.

O.k., REALLY small!

He insisted that we eat it because afterall, we had waiting all summer for it to "get a big belly".  Apparently this was big enough for Chase.

So we cut it open and ate it.  Chase had it in his mouth and back out so fast that I didn't even get a picture of it.

Maybe next year........

One of the ways we kept an extremely energetic 2 year old busy this summer.

.... and maybe his mom and dad as well..... but there are no pictures of that :)

And this is what Brody did while we had our fun.

Brody's blessing

We blessed Brody on the 4th of July.  I always get so busy and freaked out when I am in charge of those things that I forget to take pictures, so these are the few I managed to capture.

The ice cave

June 19, 2010

There is an ice cave hidden up at Miners Basin.  We like to hike up there every once in a while so we won't forget how to get to it.  This year the snow had completely covered it, so we just played in the snow instead.
Chase thought it was pretty fun throwing "snow borns" at Grandpa down below.

I'm back........

and blogging in style.  After our 5 year old computer (death bed age for computers) crashed and fried 2 hard drives with it we finally got a new one.  And it's amazing going from a 5 year old computer to an "average" new one.

We picked one out and ended up getting a floor model for a discount, so we used the money to buy an office chair.  We have been using a folding chair or camp chair for years now so this is a huge improvement as well.

I'm ready to blog to my hearts content :)
