We're going private

After talking with my mom, being pressured by Daniel, and then a horrible nightmare we are going private which means you will have to be invited to read our blog and you will have to log in. I know inconvenient, but safer all the same. If you want to be invited to read our blog just leave the email address you want invited under the comments or email it to me at kimbreytorgerson@yahoo.com. I'll leave it open for a little while so you have time.

6 months

Chase is 6 months old today and we just love him to death. It has been such a fun 6 months watching him learn and grow. We love seeing his personality start to show through. He is so close to crawling now. He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth but has yet to move forward. My mom, Ellen and I took some pictures of him this weekend and these are three of my favorites. My mom took the top one, Ellen took the one in the middle. I thought it was so cute he was sucking on his lip, and then I took the one two on the bottom. I now have around 500 pictures of him between the three of us and almost all of them turned out so cute.
I can't believe my cute little baby is growing up so fast.

Why I can't move today.

What is it with Men and Peaks? Or is it just Daniel? This wonderful man that I married has a major fascination with peaks. I love to hike, I've been raised to hike and be outside and I still enjoy it, but not peaks.

This is why I am sore today. See that little THING on the top of that very far away mountain?
Daniel has asked me every summer day if we can hike up to the "radio tower" on top of the mountain behind our house. We tried two summers ago and made it not even half way, and I finally gave in again on Saturday and agreed to try on more time.

We slathered Chase up with sunscreen. In fact we put sunscreen on Chase 4 times on that hike and never once thought to save our own skin as well, so not only am I so sore I can't move, but I'm also burned.
We had a lot of fun at first. We found Chase a flower that he found fascinating.

And even more exciting- the horny toad we found along the path.

We saw many great views of the Salt Lake Valley.
We finally made it to the top, but only after Daniel offered to take me to the Roof if I made it. We didn't actually get to go to the Roof, but Daniels little trick worked.

We finally made it.

Oh yeah... the whole reason we hiked up this gigantic hill? These stupid billboards. I don't even know what they are but the hike wasn't worth those silly things. It's a good thing we had a lot of fun on the way up because I can't move today over these 2 graffiti filled billboards.

Go utes!

I know I just got done saying I had no time to blog. That was coming from the previous weeks of business and forgetting that the weekend begins on Thursday (even though weekends are still filled with homework). Today we got to get out a little and I had to take a picture to spite some of you. In particular this includes Andrew, Janessa, Harrison, Nathan, Jared B., Alyssa, and Maren - and anymore of you crazy BYU fans. We have introduced Chase to RED, and here is the proof.
Here are a few more things we enjoy daily on our fun little park past the zoo and through This is the place. As we start getting close to leaving (even though we still have plenty of time) I am starting to realize what a fun little starter place this has been for us to learn more about each other.
How many of you get to walk past elephants every night when you go walking? Or learn some Utah history including seeing old pioneer cabins?

Or stop to skip rocks across the "no swimming" pond?
I came up here smitten with love and following my new husband wherever he wanted to go thinking I would hate it and want to get out of Salt Lake as soon as a chance arose, but it's kinda growing on me here. We live in a good neighborhood. I now give my parents directions around the city, and getting good grades at a large university. I am still a small town girl at heart, but Salt Lake is my home for now and I kinda like it, and in preparation for next season ...go UTES!

Goodbye Blogging world!

Ok not forever. I have enrolled myself in prison for the summer. Between Organic chemistry- help me please!- as class that the grade is based solely on three extremely hard tests, the four hour lab to accompany it, the 15 week class on drugs crammed into 6 weeks, the 10 page paper on drugs with a project due in three weeks, 2 photography classes (yeah! - thanks Mom and Michelle for inspiring my new hobby that keeps me sane) and most importantly my sweet little boy that deserves all my time.... there is just no time to blog. Every spare moment is spent researching and studying and playing and it has only just begun. I haven't even pulled my camera out of its bag for 2 weeks and then it was only to show my jealous neighbor how fabulous it was. So sorry no pictures of my cute (and now almost blond) little guy. Janessa- will you email that cute picture you took of Chase laughing and shivering at the reception?

Hopefully we will be able to get out soon and enjoy this wonderful weather and find some time to share with you what we are doing, but don't be surprised by the sporadic and small blogs. I do however, expect each of you to keep your blogs updated daily because there is always time to check your blogs :)

Graduation!

This hectic weekend was full of graduation for Daniel and Preston. We had so much fun visiting with Daniel's family and my parents and were sad that it all had to come to an end.
Congratulations to Daniel. Your hard worked and dedication has taken you far and will continue as you jump into a Ph.D.

Tagged!

I don't usually do this, but what the heck.

5 THINGS I WAS DOING 10 YEARS AGO:
1. Finishing 7th grade
2. Just had the worst school year of my life and would gear up for one more sucky year of middle school.
3. I was still in a weird awkward stage and still had my mom fix my hair.
4. I loved babies and kids and tried to talk every mom in the ward into letting me babysit for free.
5. Obsessing over Titanic and Leonardo Dicaprio- mostly because thats what my friends were doing.

5 THINGS ON MY TO-DO LIST TODAY:
1. Play with/ Feed/ Change diapers/ and laugh with Chase
2. See my parents and my in-laws YEAH!!
3. Finish laundry I started yesterday
4. Go to Preston's (Daniel's little brother) graduation dinner in Ogden
5. I will probably end up reading more of Eclipse while I am supposed to be doing something
else because I just need to finish the darn book and get it over with.

5 SNACKS I ENJOY:
1. Apples, Bananas, and Oranges
2. Any kind of "treat" or sugar
3. Pretzels and rolos
4. Wheat thins
5. Carrots dipped, no smothered in ranch dressing.

5 THINGS I WOULD DO IF I WERE A BILLIONAIRE:
1. Buy a house, or better yet one of those islands you see going for billions of dollars.
2. Buy my parents a house in Salt Lake so they can watch Chase for me while I finish school.
(Yes I would still finish school.)
3. Own a bunch of land so I can have a huge yard, a playground, a huge garden, horses, and
probably a farm for Daniel.
4. I would travel everywhere!
5. I would have to go with Michelle and indulge myself with a Nikon D300.

5 OF MY BAD HABITS:
1. Running to Chase's aid at the littlest thing, even when Daniel's got it taken care of.
2. I am a very very picky eater and often can't find anything to eat in a house full of food.
3. I also skip ahead in books. I usually read about the first 1/4 of the book and then skip to the last couple chapters then go back and finish what I missed. I HATE doing that, but can't help it.
4. Checking my email and other peoples blogs more than once a day.
5. I hate to read unless the book is really really good and then I hate to read because I can't put the book down and take care of more important things.

5 THINGS I WILL NEVER WEAR AGAIN:
1. Jelly shoes- no wait I never got to wear those, but as much as I wanted to I wouldn't do it now.
2. Body suits!
3. Jnco jeans (which I never would have worn in the first place if it wasn't for my totally cool and fashionable older brother and sister.)
4. "Cool Shirts" They were basically button up shirts that you left unbuttoned and wore a
white t-shirt underneath. This was also inspired by my fashionable older brother.
5. Bangs! It took me FOREVER to grow my bangs out when I was younger because they always bugged my mom and she would cut them. I have never been brave enough to cut them since.

3 PLACES I HAVE LIVED:
1. Moab
2. St. George
3. Ephraim
4. Salt Lake

5 JOBS I'VE HAD:
1. Sales Rep./ accountant/secretary/ organizer/ anything that needed to be done at the Lamp Company
2. Pre-school teacher
3. 4 C's- where I basically got paid to hike through the national parks
4. Lifeguard at swimming pool and waterpark
5. Maid and laundry at Aarchway Inn.

5 THINGS PEOPLE PROBABLY DON'T KNOW ABOUT ME:
1. I am deathly afraid of popping balloon and those can of rolls that pop when you open the wrapper. (I must have gotten that from you Jill)
2. I love being in school, no matter how hard it is and the lack of time I have right now. I want nothing more than to finish my degree in nutrition even if it takes me till I am 40.
3. I think I have an anxiety disorder because sometimes for no reason that I can think of I get incredibly sick with butterflies in my stomach and can't hardly breathe and feel like something horrible is about to happen.
4. I was voted homecoming attendant twice (fall and winter) my senior year of high school- yeah not really the type huh? When I was voted the second time I assumed I would just wear the same dress I wore just 4 months earlier, but my dear sweet mother wouldn't have it and made me ANOTHER red dress totaling my three RED formals (one was for prom the year previously)
5. I am a very passionate person. Because of my insecurities I always hide that from people and keep it all to myself. I am passionate about almost everything I do and get involved in.

And something you already know:

I have a cute little boy sleeping in the other room. He even has a clean shirt on right now because we haven't yet had our daily dose of peas.

I tag Anyone who wants to do it.
