Hide and Seek

Here mom- since you think we have fallen off the face of the Earth I will update my blog to show you otherwise.
I had one of those moments today.... you know where you lose something very important and your heart just drops right out of your body because you know if you don't find this thing very fast that something bad will happen... well today I lost Chase. This is quite a feat for those of you who know what our little tiny apartment looks like, but when I left the room he was playing on a blanket. After only a moment of putting some cloths a way I came back and glanced where he had been laying to make sure he wasn't getting into the cords and this is what I saw. No Chase. I quickly looked at all the usual spots that he sneaks off to. He likes the corners and under the piano where the cords are but after searching around he wasn't in any of these locations. This is when my heart fell to the bottom of my stomach. I couldn't even imagine where else he could have gotten to.
After a moment of pure panic, I spotted the suspect: THE BLANKET. It had been laid out flat , and was now in a bunch. Sure enough upon further investigation I saw a great big grin poking out at me.

I'm not sure if this was a game to him or if we somehow just twisted himself up, but he sure thought it was funny when I unwrapped him.Check out his other little hiding spot. At least this time I watching him crawl under there and so I knew where he was the whole time.

He played under there for 20 minutes before he finally realized he couldn't get back out and freaked out a little.
What a silly little sense of humor- I think he takes after his dad a little :)

Much to Daniels dismay- Chase has made a habit of carrying around his "purse". I don't know how but he slips it onto his arm and crawls around. He also finds it amusing to get into my purse when I leave it in his reach. (and yes that is my messy house- it's terrible.)

Ready to run

Chase found out the other day that he is running in the race with us in a couple weeks.

He immediately began getting ready.

Actually that was mom's commentary idea, but check out that runners stance. I think he's ready for the blocks- hello track and field here we come.

Happy Birthday Daniel

Happy birthday to the best man I know, to the one has sacrificed everything for me and Chase, who works hard everyday at school and work and everything he does. The man who is always working to be a better person- making and following through with goals. Happy 25 th Birthday Daniel- We love you

Daniel- I love you

I believe that Daniel and I meeting was something more than random chance. We were actually made for each other and got a lot of help finding each other.
It was the middle of July 2004 and I was back home for the summer after a year away at Dixie. I was working and planning on going back to Dixie for one more year of a full ride scholarship. I had registered for classes, paid a deposit on an apartment and was mentally gearing up for another year of hell. I had just had the worst year of my life and even though I really liked St. George and even the college, it wasn't worth the drama I had experienced with roommates. I changed my mind one Sunday evening and went to snow. I just barely had enough time to apply for that next year and was able to still find an open apartment- where Jill had lived three years earlier.
I met Daniel almost right away, although that was the extent of it. My roommates had been friends with his roommates the year before.
It was almost two months later that we realized that Daniel had actually known my sister when he had been to Snow before his mission. That was the connection we needed to become friends. From there, there was watching conference and driving over the mountain with friends, going through Tyson and Daniels mission things, and having our FHE groups together. Our friendship quickly progressed into love and here we are today. I don't believe there was anyone else out there that could fill the gap that Daniel has filled in my life. Three years ago today we tied the knot that started our little family.

He's mobile

Look at my baby- he is getting so big. He's not quite crawling, but he gets where he wants to go with a worm crawl maneuver. And whats this ugly piece of ground on my blog? That's right we finally got our garden planted or let me say my great husband did it while I had relief society responsibilities. I know you can't hardly see our plants- we're like a month behind everyone else in planting, but they are finally up. Fresh tomatoes are one of my favorite things about the summer and I can't wait!

I used to love running. I ran all through high school, at college, and when I found time while I have been married. I still love the feeling of running whenever I do go, but I have not been for a long time. The last time I tried to run was a month after I had Chase and I could NOT propel my body off the ground. I could barley pick my legs up enough to run a mile compared to my usually starting length of 2. So why would I do something as stupid as signing up for a 5K run in less than a month?

As if I didn't have enough to do right now!
