Just some new family pictures

We had some family pictures done with Daniels whole family, all 35 of us!  I could resist the urge to ATTEMPT getting some nice individual pictures as well.  I say attempt because I try to do this more often than you might think and finally, came out with some that I love.  I'm still having trouble with my camera's focus, but I'm starting to learn tricks around the issue.

Valentines day with the boys

I'm behind in blogging again.... big surprise.

I made heart cookies with the boys for valentines day.  Chase really got into it and wanted to do everything on his own. "Chaser do it his-self!"

Making sure the cookie dough was smelling good.

This is Chase rolling his eyes at me when I asked him to look at me and smile.  I thought it was too funny not to post.

AHHhhhh....  All that work was worth it.

I couldn't very well not let Brody have a valentines cookie. (Shhhhhhh... don't tell daddy).  He liked the taste but hated when ever a small piece would break off into his mouth.

My very first turkey.

Not sure why, but turkeys seems a little overwhelming.  I didn't plan on ever cooking one until I was a grandma, but I couldn't pass up the one Macy's was selling me for a dollar around Thanksgiving.
It has sat since then hogging up all the room in my freezer and waiting for me to get the courage to cook it, and I finally did.  And it wasn't that hard, but it WAS that good!

In case you care, I used this recipe and it was wonderful.  It had plenty of very flavorful juice left over for the gravy and to make soup with.

Chase is sick :(  (along with most of the other kids in the world it appears.)  It's really sad to watch him, but a little funny as well.  His particular cold has the side effect of having..... a LISP.  That's right.  We are just hoping that when we get rid of the cold, the lisp will go along with it.

Before going shopping today I asked Chase, "What should we have for dinner this week buddy?"
He thought for just a short minute and replied, "just cake!..... and Brownies!..... and applesauce!"

Sounds like my kind of dinners (minus the applesauce of course :).

Ground hog day!

My day goes much better when I have some little activities for Chase that we don't do EVERY DAY.  He has that attention span of a ...... 3 year old boy and being cooped up in the house all of January makes for a very bored 3 year old boy and that means lots of disasters and messes for me.
So on groundhog day we made little groundhogs that go out and into their little "hole in the ground"  to teach Chase about groundhog day.

Who needs a maid?

I have plenty of help around the house.

In this case mopping the floor (and by mopping the floor I mean scrubbing the floor.  I HATE mops.  So bad that I would rather scrub on hands and knees.)

There's this little guy.  He loves to help me with my rags.  He chases me in circles trying to get the rag that I am using.  I try distracting him with his own rag, he wasn't even slightly interested.  I got it wet and he was only slightly interested, but he wants the one in my hand.

And this guy....   he loves water! and bubbles!  He makes sure that Brody doesn't get into my water, and helps me scatter soapy water all over so the floor gets extra clean.

These guys do more than just help me mop.  The help clean the bathroom, vacuum, washing/drying/AND folding laundry, and dishes.  Yep, they can do it all.

In fact just the other day I told Chase, "we can do whatever you want to do while Brody is taking a nap.  What'll it be?"

"DISHES!!!"

They keep me busy and on track!
