Busy Busy

We are still in over our heads with school, but finally got a break for the weekend. We spent some time enjoying our new toys.
Chase always enjoys himself when we are outside.

He spent some time getting to know the grass. He really enjoyed pulling it until he tipped over and felt it poking him.

Scratch and WHAT!?!?!?!?!

This is a picture of Chase doing what he does best. Scratching. He has become known around our house as "our little rat". He scratches anything that looks interesting to him, mainly: the couch, the couch cushions, the floor, the toys on his exercauser, any book or paper in our hands, and most commonly the shade on his car seat ALL the way to wherever we are going.

Today he was playing on the floor and was getting fussy in want of food. I set my homework on the floor just out of reach and when I came back with a bottle I found that Chase was able to roll over with the intention of getting my homework. Thanks for the help bud!

Oh yeah and whats with this? There are no words to describe how I feel about it so I will say nothing more than WHAT??!?!?

Preview of an older Chase

I was looking for tips on taking family portraits so I can take some for my sister in law and I found this:Look familiar at all? How about this little guy (I couldn't find a great picture for comparison, but for those who have seen Chase in real life will probably agree...):

I am convinced that this is Chase in about 3-4 years. (You know, when he finally grows a little more hair :) Whose that little girl? I don't know, but that little boy is surely my little Chase.

Meanwhile we today enjoyed more of this:

Oh how I love the sun! And my little Chase just loves being able to play outside.

What a day.

Well I had a long post typed up about the insane week I had between a test, and two big research papers, but for your sake have deleted it all. We have been busy and probably will be for two more weeks so there won't be many posts in the next little while.
Today was finally a break from the chaos. We some old textbooks and used the money to buy MRE's and fix up our 72 hour kits and make one for Chase. We even ate an MRE for lunch to see what we are in for in an emergency and I think I will be starving! Then we headed to the park for some outdoor fun. Chase loved being outside and kept himself entertained while Daniel and I spent some time (3 hours) playing Frisbee and catch with a softball.

We headed home and played basketball until Chase had a blow out. At this point we found that we had locked ourselves out of our apartment, Chase was mad and hungry and had a more than full diaper.

The 30 min wait pretty much ruined the fun we had. Chase has now been knocked out cold for 3 hours and probably won't sleep tonight. Poor guy. We keep trying to remind him that he is the first and will have to suffer as we try to learn. Daniel is also now asleep on my shoulder and I think I might just join him :) Good night!

"It's a rough road that leads to the heights of greatness"

Between conference sessions today we hiked to Ensign peak, something I have wanted to do since we moved here. It was a short hike, kinda steep, and extremely windy. This is Daniel with Chase hiding in a cove from the wind.

As I was reading the plaques at the top of Ensign peak I could hear something through the wind. As I started listening harder I thought I could hear Brigham Young or some great strong man from the past talking~WHAT? I had a reality check and realized this was no great man from the past but from the present. I was hearing conference on top of Ensign peak. I yelled to Daniel and explained the strange phenomenon that I was experiencing. We both started looking to understand where the noise was coming from and there behind the rock well was a couple laying in a sleeping bag with a radio listening to conference. Oh the things they must have thought of us thinking we could hear conference all the way up on top of the peak.
This is the view at night. We headed up there last night to check out the hike and whether or not we wanted to attempt it. The sound of the word "peak" had me a little uneasy about the hike.

What's this thing used for?

Last weekend we borrowed Jill and Kenny's baby jumper. We were organizing Chase's closet last night when we decided to keep him entertained in the jumper. Unlike Porter and Aiden, Chase doesn't constantly jump, but rather likes to stand. He stands and marches any chance he gets so when we put him in the jumper, naturally he didn't jump. He seemed a little confused at first until he decided to stand. Standing pushed him backwards where he lost his balance and was propelled forward in a swinging motion. Hey~ that was pretty fun. He did this again and again , turned in circles and just smiled away. I think he likes it ~ wait till he finds out what it is really all about.
(Whats with the arm through the leg whole? We kept pulling it out and he just kept putting it back in. I guess the leaning helped with the circling.)

Kitten's play

I set Chase down on a blanket on the floor this morning as I was cleaning, when I turned around this is what I saw. I don't know how he stayed on his back and got the blanket from underneath him on top of him.
It was like watching a kitten play with a ball of yarn. As soon as he caught me watching him, he just laughed and stopped.
