This is the place

This is the place heritage park is like a second home to us. It is a beautiful state park just a couple blocks from our house and our nightly walks for the last three years have led us up that way. Our walking routine is really fun. We walk right past the zoo and see the elephants, and then walk through the park. There is a gate to get to the animals and whether or not we are supposed to go through it we do. Now that it's spring we finally got to introduce Chase to the horses there.

And of course skipping rocks is always on the list when water is around.
and.... there is plenty of cute boy to go around.

School is finally finished and we are pooped!

Now we just get to "hang out" for a short break until school starts again.

My big boy!

This is my little guy growing up so fast. He is so big he can sometimes hold his own bottle. (Only when he isn't so hungry that he anxiously knocks the bottle OUT as we try to keep it in, AND try to keep his hands entertained.)

Our doctor gave us the go ahead (when we wanted) to start with solids and he just loves the rice cereal. We haven't tried much else yet but he is a good eater! This is his messy face, but you have to look hard to see.

Busy Busy

We are still in over our heads with school, but finally got a break for the weekend. We spent some time enjoying our new toys.
Chase always enjoys himself when we are outside.

He spent some time getting to know the grass. He really enjoyed pulling it until he tipped over and felt it poking him.

Scratch and WHAT!?!?!?!?!

This is a picture of Chase doing what he does best. Scratching. He has become known around our house as "our little rat". He scratches anything that looks interesting to him, mainly: the couch, the couch cushions, the floor, the toys on his exercauser, any book or paper in our hands, and most commonly the shade on his car seat ALL the way to wherever we are going.

Today he was playing on the floor and was getting fussy in want of food. I set my homework on the floor just out of reach and when I came back with a bottle I found that Chase was able to roll over with the intention of getting my homework. Thanks for the help bud!

Oh yeah and whats with this? There are no words to describe how I feel about it so I will say nothing more than WHAT??!?!?

Preview of an older Chase

I was looking for tips on taking family portraits so I can take some for my sister in law and I found this:Look familiar at all? How about this little guy (I couldn't find a great picture for comparison, but for those who have seen Chase in real life will probably agree...):

I am convinced that this is Chase in about 3-4 years. (You know, when he finally grows a little more hair :) Whose that little girl? I don't know, but that little boy is surely my little Chase.

Meanwhile we today enjoyed more of this:

Oh how I love the sun! And my little Chase just loves being able to play outside.

What a day.

Well I had a long post typed up about the insane week I had between a test, and two big research papers, but for your sake have deleted it all. We have been busy and probably will be for two more weeks so there won't be many posts in the next little while.
Today was finally a break from the chaos. We some old textbooks and used the money to buy MRE's and fix up our 72 hour kits and make one for Chase. We even ate an MRE for lunch to see what we are in for in an emergency and I think I will be starving! Then we headed to the park for some outdoor fun. Chase loved being outside and kept himself entertained while Daniel and I spent some time (3 hours) playing Frisbee and catch with a softball.

We headed home and played basketball until Chase had a blow out. At this point we found that we had locked ourselves out of our apartment, Chase was mad and hungry and had a more than full diaper.

The 30 min wait pretty much ruined the fun we had. Chase has now been knocked out cold for 3 hours and probably won't sleep tonight. Poor guy. We keep trying to remind him that he is the first and will have to suffer as we try to learn. Daniel is also now asleep on my shoulder and I think I might just join him :) Good night!
