This is the place

This is the place heritage park is like a second home to us. It is a beautiful state park just a couple blocks from our house and our nightly walks for the last three years have led us up that way. Our walking routine is really fun. We walk right past the zoo and see the elephants, and then walk through the park. There is a gate to get to the animals and whether or not we are supposed to go through it we do. Now that it's spring we finally got to introduce Chase to the horses there.

And of course skipping rocks is always on the list when water is around.
and.... there is plenty of cute boy to go around.

You do have a plenty cute boy. He looks like he loves the outdoors, which is good for two outdoorsie people like you. What a fun place to hike. It's too dark when I walk to see anything but skunks.

Seriously, he is so dang cute! We would do that walk all the time when we lived up there! I'm glad you guys are enjoying it while you can! Have you gone up to the trails up above "This is the Place"? The trail head starts directly north of the zoo and it goes on forever up there. It's so wonderful.

I love the village! I used to volunteer there with my family for about 5 summers and once when Emily was a baby. I love it there, though it has changed too drastically recently, and not for the better. I can't stand to volunteer anymore because of all of it. But I still love it. And it is hard to go sometimes because all I want to do is rewind time and put on my pioneer dress and petty coats and be a pioneer. Sigh. It is awesome there!
